Would you please do a video about sharpening recurve knives such as my Ontario Kukri. I have spend a lot
of time using sandpaper on a mouse pad & would like to speed up the process with my new Ken Onion.

    Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg…. Belt sanders, such as your Ken Onion sharpener, are a far better solution for sharpening recurve knives than attempting to sharpen them with stones or a mouse pad & sandpaper. The belts will flex to the recurve shape and put a perfect razor edge on recurred blades. Look at your “Ken Onion User Guide” for your sharpener and you’ll see sketches of many different blade types that it sharpens. You’ll see the recurved blades there. Then exactly follow the steps for sharpening an outdoor knife, as described in your User Guide. It says you should follow the shape of the blade as you pull the blade through the guide. Also watch my latest video on sharpening a Bowie knife with the Ken Onion sharpener. All will be explained and should make sense. Eventually I will do a video on recurved blades, but the above information should be good for now. Stay sharp!!!
